MDCC Student-Athletes Earn 43 MACCC Academic All-Conference Honors
Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) is proud to announce that 43 student-athletes have earned recognition from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) for their academic excellence during the 2025-26 academic year.
MOORHEAD, Miss. (July 16, 2026) — Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) is proud to announce that 43 student-athletes have earned recognition from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) for their academic excellence during the 2025-26 academic year.
The annual MACCC Academic All-Conference Teams recognize student-athletes who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the classroom while competing at the collegiate level. MDCC's honorees were recognized in two categories: Distinguished Academic All-State, awarded to student-athletes with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.8 or higher, and Academic All-MACCC, awarded to student-athletes with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher.
The recognition reflects the college's commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. This year, MDCC had honorees representing five athletic programs, with baseball leading the way with 17 selections.
"Our student-athletes continue to demonstrate what it means to pursue excellence in every aspect of the collegiate experience," said Athletic Director Tangela Banks. "These honors reflect countless hours of dedication in the classroom while balancing the demands of collegiate athletics. We are incredibly proud of each student-athlete who earned this recognition and the example they set for our department."
Among those recognized was Jake Bailey, a baseball student-athlete who earned Distinguished Academic All-State honors with a 3.918 cumulative grade-point average.
"It's an honor to be recognized by the MACCC for academic achievement," Bailey said. "Our team takes pride in competing at a high level, but we also understand that being successful in the classroom is just as important. I'm thankful for the support of my coaches, professors and teammates who encourage us to excel both on the field and in our studies."
