Baseball And Softball Turn Sights Gear Up For Spring

Cold temperatures have settled in the Delta. That only means one thing, the greatest show on dirt is upon us. The Mississippi Association of Community College Conference is one of the most competitive Baseball and Softball leagues in the country. The MDCC Baseball tradition and upstart Softball Trojans is nothing short of that. 

 

Coach Stanley and staff have announced their 2022 Spring schedule. The season opener is set for this Sunday at Millington, TN versus Southwest Tennessee Community College as a part of the Early Bird Classic. Trojans grit it out on the road for the month of February with talented opponents on every date.  The Trojans will open conference play at Meridian Community College on Saturday, March 12. Then continue on the road to play NEMCC (March 15th). 

 

They will debut at home on Saturday, March 19th, versus Jones College. The young Trojans will have 7 home dates this year. All the dates will be double headers, so make sure to mark your calendars to come and support this young team. Shifting now to softball, Coach Dylinn Rowland prepares to lead the Lady Trojans Softball team in her first season as Head Coach. The Ladies will open at Brenda Grubbs Field on the campus of Mississippi Delta Community College this Sunday, February 6th at 12 and 2 pm versus Holmes Community College.

 

The Softball Trojans will continue to play seven home dates this year. First home conference date will be Saturday, March 12th, at 1:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. versus Meridian Community College. 

 

 

Coach Rowland comments," These girls have worked extremely hard this fall and especially coming back after Christmas." "We have a great group, of young ladies and I am excited to see their hard work pay off on the field!"

 

MDCC Baseball and Softball games have no charge to attend. Most of the home Conference matchups will be streamed on MDCC Sports Network. Please make plans to come out and support both teams.
