Delta postponed at ICC on Saturday
MOORHEAD – The 2020 football season at Mississippi Delta Community College has been a fluid situation, and Monday was no different, as the Trojans were postponed for this week's matchup with Itawamba Community College due to COVID-19. The Indians of ICC had a positive case of COVID, and due to contact tracing, have been forced to shut down operations for two weeks.
This comes on the heels of the Trojans coming off a two-week hiatus of their own, which ended this evening and had the MDCC football team returning to campus and practice on Monday. The elusive second game will have to wait another week, however, and the contest with ICC has no make-up date at this point.
Delta has been forced to shuffle numerous contests around thus far in the 2020 season, including having to cancel their Oct. 17 home date with Holmes Community College, due to the Bulldogs being on a two-week hiatus concerning COVID-19. MDCC was set to play at Coahoma Community College on Oct. 24, but after the recent two-week quarantine, this game has been moved to mid-November in Clarksdale.
