KeShaun Blackmon inks with Bethune-Cookman
MOORHEAD – KeShaun Blackmon (Byram), a sophomore linebacker on the Mississippi Delta Community College football team, used Wednesday's National Signing Day to ink with Bethune-Cookman University to continue his academic and athletic career.
Blackmon had a limited 2020 campaign, due to only being able to compete in three of the four games that MDCC was able to play in a bizarre season. This did not slow him down, however, as he had nine tackles, including five tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
He had a standout rookie season for the Trojans in 2019, collecting 33 tackles in a nine-game campaign. This included 10.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks.
Blackmon is a 2019 graduate of Terry High School, where he was a four-year letterman, All-State selection as a senior and a two-time All-District choice in his final two seasons.
Bethune-Cookman is a Division I school that competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). The Wildcats have a storied tradition, as the program has posted nine winning seasons in the last 10 years, including a 7-4 season in 2019. Their 80 victories in the 2010's were the most for any Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) program in the decade.
