Down by seven points with 3:21 left in regulation on the road at Southwest Community College, the MDCC Trojans went on an 11-4 run with a dramatic last-second buzzer-beater three-pointer by sophomore Javardrick Jackson to tie the game at 77 each. In overtime, the Trojans and Bears were neck and neck but the Bears eventually pulled out the 89-86 win. The Trojans fall to 8-12 overall and 2-5 in the MACCC. Southwest is now 12-9 overall and 3-3 in the MACCC.
Tylik Weeks led Southwest with 24 points. Daivion Traylor led the Trojans with 19 points - all in the second half. Jackson added 15 points while Robert Millender added 14. Javeon Smith had 12 points and Latrell Vance had 10.
With a four-game losing streak, the Trojans will host Copiah-Lincoln Community College (11-7 overall and 3-3 in the MACCC) on Monday, February 12 at 7:30 p.m.
