Antanisha Wade headed to Philander Smith
MOORHEAD – Antanisha Wade (Cleveland), a forward on the Mississippi Delta Community College women's basketball team, has committed to Philander Smith College to continue her academic and athletic career next season.
Wade was a standout performer for the Trojans in 2021, as well as her freshman season of 2019-2020.
As a second-year player in 2021, she finished first on the team in rebounds (4.7 rebounds per game) and was second on the team in scoring (12.6 points per game).
In her freshman season of 2019-2020, Wade was named to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State second team after leading the Lady Trojans in points per game (11.) and rebounds per game (4.9). She excelled academically as well, making both the dean's and honor's lists.
The Cleveland Central High School graduate also recently earned the Lady Trojan Award, the highest honor bestowed upon an MDCC female student-athlete, for her fine work in the classroom and on the court.
Philander Smith is located in Little Rock, Ark., and is a member of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
